Virtualstrategist is a kitchen remodeling contractor in Riverside, California. Most of the kitchens we work on belong to households that look different from the ones the original builder had in mind. A parent has moved in. Adult children are home again. Two people cook dinner at the same time every night, and a third is trying to make lunch for tomorrow in the same six feet of counter.

A kitchen designed for one cook fails those families in predictable ways. People queue at the only sink. The dishwasher door blocks the path to the refrigerator. The upper cabinets hold everything the shortest person in the house needs. The one outlet near the coffee maker runs the toaster, the kettle and a phone charger, and the breaker trips on Sunday mornings.

We start every project by asking who lives in the house and how each person uses the kitchen, before we talk about cabinet colors. That answer decides where a second prep sink goes, whether an island makes sense or just gets in the way, how wide the aisles need to be and which section of counter should sit lower for someone who works seated.

How We Work

We walk the kitchen with you and open the sink base, because that is where old leaks and tired plumbing show up first. In prewar homes around the Wood Streets and downtown, that often means galvanized or cast iron lines that should be replaced while the walls are open. In ranch homes in Arlington and La Sierra, it means working out whether a new island sink is worth cutting the slab.

You get a written scope and a line by line price before demolition. Cabinets and slabs are ordered early so the house is not without a kitchen while we wait on a truck. When the work needs a permit from the City of Riverside, we draw it, pull it and meet the inspector.

What We Will Not Do

We will not sell you a wall removal when a better layout inside the same walls would do the job, and we will not push a full remodel when new drawers and a prep sink would fix what is actually bothering you.
